Rosalie Faye Edwards

Rosalie Faye Edwards, 86, of Jewell, shed her earthly bonds on Friday, January 13. Rosalie was born April 13, 1930, to Elda and Harry Buer in Norway, Kansas. She graduated from Courtland High School and attended Bethany College and Kansas State before marrying the love of her life, John Howard Edwards of Jewell, on February 5, 1951. Rosalie was an avid gardener, reader, seamstress and cook. She was also a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. For over 20 years, she was a respected employee of the Girls’ Industrial Youth Center in Beloit. Trinity United Methodist Church in Jewell was her spiritual home. Although she was private and quiet, she had a wonderful sense of humor, and always carried herself with a personal grace and dignity. Her memory will be cherished by those she loved, including her husband of nearly 66 years, John, her children and their spouses, Ginna Lee (Rom) of Seattle, WA, Dick Edwards (Carlene) of Jamestown, KS, Cheryl Daugherty (Duane) of Roeland Park, KS and David Edwards (Judy) of Concordia, KS, her grandchildren, Lauren Hulse of Reno , NV, Maia Lee of Los Angeles, CA, Morgan Whisenhunt of Kansas City, MO, Keenan Edwards and Brenton Edwards of Concordia, KS, her brothers, Edward Buer of Norway, KS, Bruce Buer of Silverton, OR and sister, Inez Tillery of Kingston, OK, and all those who knew her. Visitors are welcome to remember Rosalie at Kleppinger Funeral Home in Jewell on Friday, January 20 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. The family will be available for visitation at Kleppinger Funeral Home from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Friday. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Jewell at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 21. According to Rosalie’s wishes, she was cremated and a private interment will take place at a future date.
