Boys I will never forget your dad. When Jan and I first moved to Concordia your dad and Mom were the first to help us out other than family. I never had a brother so I always considered your dad my older brother. We had a great time while working together at the Sheriff's Office and on Saturday Nights playing cards and visiting. You should be proud of your dad as he was one in a million. Even though we moved to Olathe we still stayed in touch with your parents and we will miss them very much. May God comfort your sorrow and always remember the good times as your dad and mom are now together watching over you.

Our dear Uncle LeRoy...always was so much fun to be around. When we first moved to Concordia, fresh out of the Navy, Uncle LeRoy got Kurt his first job at Boogaarts, working right along beside LeRoy on the graveyard/swing shift. LeRoy did that backbreaking work of unloading countless heavy box after box off fully-loaded semi trailers, which he did for many years.

During those tough early days of transitioning back to civilian life, we were really hurting financially and didn't have much in the way of food and other essentials. He and Aunt Frances, (as well as Aunt Shirley and Uncle Dean) would mysteriously happen to have "extra" food they "couldn't eat and would go to waste," so they would drop by and give us bags of food, baby clothes, and other goodies. It made what would have been an overwhelming situation into something bearable for a young struggling couple with two little girls to feed and clothe. When we think of those times, it makes our hearts full with love for our dear ones who have gone on before us.

We pray that God will give all the family peace during this difficult time and the days ahead.

Rest in peace, Uncle LeRoy.
