Wally Cooper, age 87, passed Thursday March 6, 2025 at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS.
Wallace (Wally) was born March 8th 1937 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Chesley and Berta Mae (Yarbrough) Cooper. He was the 4th of 5 children.
At the age of 17 he joined the Airforce and became an airplane mechanic. He spent 22 years serving our country and retired Master Sergeant.
In his travels he married his first wife Bernadette Marie Trzeciak June 24th 1957. This union brought 6 adoring children. After retiring he worked in the aircraft industry, real estate, and locksmith and in the Sedgwick county carpool. He enjoyed family, fishing, chess, woodworking and travel.
On April 11, 1998 Wally married the love of his life Cleora Sue Burke, with her came 4 more adoring children.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Cleora, parents Chesley and Berta Mae, brothers Chesley Jr., Ferrand, Gilbert, sister Nancy Sue Farris, brother in-law Bill Farris, son in-laws Tom Ricke and David Stimpson. Wally is survived by children and stepchildren: Barbara (Jeff) Moos of Boise, ID, Ted (Sue) Cooper of Knoxville, TN, Carl Cooper, Wally Jr.(Kristie) Cooper of Wichita, KS Theresa Ricke of Harper, KS, Angelique Cooper of The Woodlands, TX, George (Michelle) Hammond of Derby, KS, Kimberly Stimpson, Tamara Potter of Rosehill, KS, Susan (Brandon) Bacon of Wichita, KS, 20 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday March 10, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Culbertson- Smith Mortuary, Wichita, KS.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday March 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Culbertson- Smith Mortuary, Wichita, KS.
Burial will follow at the Whitewater Cemetery, Whitewater, KS
