Shirley A. Chartier

Shirley A. Chartier, age 89 passed away February 27, 2026 at Park Villa Nursing Home. Shirley was born April 11, 1936 in Concordia, Kansas to Lloyd and Louise Lawrence. On October 8, 1955, Shirley married Richard G. Chartier in Concordia, Kansas. Richard and Shirley lived in California, Ottawa, and a few other places before making their home on a farm south of Clyde, Kansas, where they continued to live until retiring to Clyde, Kansas. Shirley helped daily with the operation of the family dairy farm. Shirley is survived by her husband of 70 years, Richard; two sons; Richard L. Chartier and David L. (Boomer) Chartier of Clyde Kansas; one daughter, Karen S. Pounds and husband Jeff Pounds of Scott City, Kansas. Two grandchildren; Desiree Cooper, Scott City, Kansas and Christopher Pounds, Hays Kansas. Two great grandchildren, Ashton J. Cooper and Layla S. Cooper of Scott City, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Pearl DeMars, Marie McGee, Laura Lohmeyer, Ellamae Elliott, Ruth Lawrence and Genevive Henricks, and one brother, Delbert Lawrence.
