Merrill Dale Beaushaw, age 101, of Abilene, KS., formerly of Jamestown, KS., died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Memorial Hospital - Abilene, KS.
He was born July 22, 1913 to Evelyn B. & Ada G. (Logan) Beaushaw, on a farm west of Jamestown.
Merrill married Esther Pickle September 18, 1949. They have three daughters.
He was a farmer and worked for Cloud County road department for 20 years as a road grader operator.
As a young boy he attended St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Merrill was a member of the Jamestown Methodist Church, VFW #588, The American Legion and past member of the Cloud County Barbershop Chorus and Odd Fellows of Jamestown.
He received a honorary high school diploma from Concordia High School on his 90th birthday. He had to help on the farm and was drafted into the Army - so was unable to attend high school.
Merrill is survived by: his wife - Esther of the home
three daughters: Gloria (Charles) Coss - Baxley, GA
Karen Anderson - Abilene, KS
Marylin Bean - Chapman, KS
one sister: Ila Lewis - Belleville, KS
10 grand children; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and relatives.
Preceded in death by: Parents; grandson - Monte Dan Bean II; Siblings: Melvin, Carl, Earl, Duane, Madeline, Marjorie.
Memorial Services will be Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Jamestown, KS. Inurnment at a later date.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary Chapel - Concordia, KS
Memorials: Wounded Warriors or Hospice of Dickinson County
Nutter Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
