Stephen Wilson Obituary

Stephen Carl Wilson was born on December 8, 1957 and died on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the age of 61. Steve was the son of Carl Cummings Wilson and Jimmie Lou (Harmon) Wilson.

Steve graduated from Ryder High School at Wichita Falls, Texas and then worked as an installation and repairman in the HVAC industry for a year. In 1977, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving as a Refrigeration and Cryogenics Specialist and was honorably discharged in 1981. He then enrolled at the University of Oklahoma at Norman, Oklahoma and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He specialized in combustion engineering and held eight design patents in his field of expertise. Steve had been employed by York International, now Johnson Controls for 25 years.

Steve coached soccer when his children were young and other hobbies included playing the guitar: rocks blues, and heavy metal; and making beefjerky.

Steve was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ of Oklahoma City; the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineering; and the National Rifle Association.

Stephen Carl Wilson married Jacqueline Sue "Jackie" Johnson on December 28, 1985 at Norman, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles Bennett Johnson and Marcia Ann (Koehn) Johnson. Born to this union were Thomas Andrew "Drew" Wilson born on August 20, 1988 and Kimberly Anne "Kim" (Wilson) Quirk born on December 5, 1989.

Steve is survived by his wife, Jackie of 33 years; his son, Drew Wilson of Denton, Texas; his daughter, Kim Quirk and husband, Kyle and their daughter, Adeline Rey Quirk of Allen, Texas; brother, Weldon James Wilson and wife, Schroeder Wilson and their son, Reese Schroeder Wilson of Edmond, Oklahoma; sister, Barbara Jean Wilson of Lakewood, Colorado; aunts: Peggy Wilson Anderson, Dorothy Wilson Bedford, Betty Wilson Rabenau and Barbara Wilson; uncles: George and Faye Wilson, Robert Wilson, Mike and Carolyn Harmon, and Jim Hutton; father-in-law, Charles B.

Johnson of Concordia, Kansas; three brothers-in-law: Thomas Snyder, Roger Hardaway of Concordia,

Kansas, and Steven Wilkinson and wife, Amy Wilkinson and their children, Chase Cordell and            

Alexandria Dianne "Andi" of Olathe, Kansas; two other nieces, Sierra Ashley Snyder of Concordia, Kansas and Victoria Mae "Tori" Wilkinson of Olathe, Kansas; a nephew, Brendan Charles Hardaway and companion, Allie Lind and their son, Dean Ivan Hardaway of Dickinson, North Dakota; friends:

Mark and Heather Jenkins, Steve Pickle, Mike Metcalf, and Dan Baily; and other relatives.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jimmie Lou Wilson; mother-in-law, Marcia

Ann Johnson; grandparents: Clarence Cummings and Ethel Mae Bell Wilson and James Logan and

Eara Harmon; aunts, Opal Wilson Hefley and Jeannie Harmon Hutton; uncles, Jerry Wilson and Ed Anderson; and two sisters-in-law, Kathrine Louise (Johnson) (Snyder) Tiffany and Stephanie Ann (Johnson) Wilkinson.

Inurnment will be in the Zion Cemetery located southeast of Belleville, Kansas in Section 30, Grant Township, Republic County, Kansas. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Nutter Mortuary of Concordia, Kansas is assisting the Wilson family with the services,
