James Larsen Obituary

James M. (Jim) Larsen (65) passed away on April 1, 2018 at the Mt. Joseph Senior Village in Concordia, Kansas.   Jim was born in Concordia on September 17, 1952,

 to Mervin and Nora (Laman) Larsen.  

 

Jim graduated from Concordia High School and the Manhattan Area Technical College.   Jim was a man of many talents and spent his career working as a jouneyman lineman, organizer of wagon train excursions, fence building,  organizer of dog field trails and dog trainer.   Before his recent retirement, Jim delivered the Salina Journal to subscribers in north central Kansas for more than 10 years.   Jim loved nature and the pursuit of outdoor activities that incorporated his love of dogs and horses. 

 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his sister Penny of Wichita, Kansas, daughter Barb Kearn of Wichita, son Bruce (Jenn) Larsen of Juneau, Alaska, granddaughters Maci and Jada Kearn of Wichita,  grandson Ryan Larsen of Juneau, Alaska, aunts Rita Larsen of Concordia and Corda (Stanley) McMillan of Jamestown, Kansas as well as numerous cousins and many area friends.

 

In  lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim's name to the NCK Saddle Club in care of Nutter Mortuary. 

 

Cremation has taken place.   A private family gathering to scatter Jim's ashes will be held at at later date.
