Cynthia Ann Tholstrup

 

Cynthia Ann Tholstrup, Concordia, left this life to live her new eternal life. She passed away at her home  on August 22, 2017.  She was 71. Cynthia was born September 15, 1945 at Clay Center, KS to Clayton and Catherine Hanson. She lived in Clay Center as a young child and moved to Concordia in 1949.

 

Cynthia was a graduate of Concordia High School and Cloud County Community College where she received her E.M.T. Certification.

 

She married Dennis Tholstrup September 26, 1959. They were married 57 years and 11 months. He survives of the home.

 

Born to this marriage were 4 daughter: Marie Foster and husband Jim- Salina, KS.  Marsha Strang- Concordia, KS.  Melinda Spear and husband Dave- Glasco, KS.  Amie Tholstrup- Salina, KS.

Also surviving: Son-in-law Doug Blake, Manhattan, KS.   9 Grandchildren           15 Great-Grandchildren.

 

 Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson.

 

Cynthia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and had many friends. Cynthia played and active role in her family's lives including: Blue Birds, Campfires, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Softball, Twirling, Sunday School, and a room mother for Concordia Elementary School. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was a big supporter of her children's  school activities and sports. She put in many hours helping with her grandchildren. She played an active role helping Dennis with their masonry business, farming, and rentals. Cynthia enjoyed riding horses, crafts, twirling, spending time on the farm, animals of all kinds, hosting family dinners, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed swimming, ceramics, crocheting, painting, canning, shopping, and having coffee with her friends. Cynthia was a faithful supporter of A.S.P.C.A.

 

Friends may sign the register book at Nutter Mortuary, Friday, August 25th, 2017 from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Inurnment will be private.

 

A celebration of life/potluck dinner will be held Sunday, September 10th, 2017 at 12:00pm (noon) at the Concorida American Legion. Please help us celebrate the amazing person she was!

 

Memorials to be sent to the family, or in care of Nutter Mortuary.  Cynthia has requested to honor her Grandson. The money will be donated to a charity to benefit Children with PVL or Cerebral Palsy at a later date.
