Charlotte Maxine Kissinger

Charlotte Maxine (Johnson) Kissinger, age 93, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Hilltop Lodge, Beloit, KS after having lived a long and fulfilling life. Maxine was born to Earl and Esther Johnson on November 12, 1926 in Smolan, KS. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Donald.

She was married to Karl Kissinger on September 21, 1947. They had one child, Janice Elaine (Kissinger) Mansfield, born on July 6, 1949 in Concordia, KS. Maxine was an artist, painting numerous oil paintings that were desired by family and friends. She was a detailed seamstress, making her and Janice’s clothing. She was a quilter and did embroidery and tatting.

Maxine and Karl built a home five miles north of Randall, KS and were then married in this home. When Karl was no longer able to maintain farming chores, they moved to Jewell, KS and lived there until moving back to Beloit, KS.

She will be remembered by her daughter, Janice (Tom) Mansfield of Topeka, grandsons Daniel (Amy) Mansfield, Mark Mansfield, and a great-grandson Alex. She will also be remembered by many friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 21 from 1:00PM-5:00PM at Kleppinger Funeral Home, Jewell, KS.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 22 at 2:00PM at the First United Methodist Church in Beloit, KS.

Burial will follow at Wallace Cemetery, Rural Jewell, KS.
