Richard Eugene Vanous, age 71, of Concordia, Kansas died Monday, October 31, 2016 at his home.
He was born October 6, 1945 at Belleville, Kansas to Raymond and Viola (Havel) Vanous.
Richard was a longtime resident of Concordia for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Central Christian Church of Belleville, Kansas and the Concordia V.F.W. Post #588. He was employed by Babe Houser Chevrolet and later Concordia Chevrolet for over 35 years.
Richard married Jill Kunce. To this union 2 sons were born. They later divorced.
He married Debbie Chartier in 1979. To this union 2 sons were born. They later divorced.

Children: Ronnie Vanous (Sonja) – Orlando, FL
Philip Vanous (Erika) – Laredo, TX
Brent Vanous (Bree) – Concordia, KS
Nathan Vanous – Concordia, KS
Carla Vanous – Concordia, KS (former daughter-in-law)
Travis Chartier – Concordia, KS
Grandchildren: Shawn Lloyd, Starr, Madison & Trista Vanous; Tora, Mara, Lane, Jayden &
Rowan Vanous. Terry Dalehite step grandson and many nieces & nephews.
Lifetime companion – Debbie Vanous
Mother – Viola Hedstrom – Belleville, Kansas
Sister – Linda (Larry) Tebow – Courtland, Kansas
Preceded in death by his father – Raymond Vanous.
Funeral Services will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church – Concordia, KS with Pastor Jeff Nielsen officiating.
Burial will be in the Belleville Cemetery.
Military Honors by VFW #588 and American Legion #76.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary Chapel. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to N.C.K. Down Syndrome Society.
