James "Jim" David Gould

August 30, 1951 ~ December 16, 2016 (age 65) 65 Years Old

 

James(Jim)David Gould was born August 30, 1951, in Concordia, Kansas and he passed away in Coronado California on December 16, 2016. He was the son of Jack and Phyllis Gould. Jim graduated from Concordia High School in 1969 where he had participated in cross country and track. Then he attended Cloud County Community College before completing his Bachelors Degree in Education at Kansas State University. He began his thirty plus years of devoted teaching and coaching in Barneston, Nebraska followed by Valley Heights Jr./Sr. High School in Blue Rapids, Kansas. He retired to Salina, Kansas in 2006 and then later moved to Coronado, Ca.

 

Jim is survived by his Wife, Anne Cox of San Diego, Ca, Son Jared(Kelly) of Waco, Tx, Stepdaughter Catherine Tobin (Chad Istas) of Ca, Brothers Richard of Republic, Ks, Robert of Concordia, Ks, and Lee (Debbie) of Salina, Ks. He is also survived by Uncles Harold Gould, Perry Gile (Margaret) and Aunts Beth Whitney, Joan Meili, Louise Kempton, Gertrude Heide, Janet Shrader, Martha Gephart (Jack), and many Cousins and Friends.

 

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents Orrin and Hazel Gould and Walter LeRoy and Julia Gile.

 

Jim will be remembered as a loving father, husband, and loyal friend. He was a proud member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and a fervent Kansas State Fan who had season tickets for many years. He volunteered his time by doing extra duties for his students. He enjoyed riding both his bike and motorcycle, attending rock concerts, acquiring and admiring sports cars, and spending time with his loved ones, friends, and his pets.

 

Graveside Services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS. Memorials may be given to Valley Heights High School- Athletic Department. Everyone is invited to the Pizza Hut, after service, to share memories.
